Prepare Your Home For Fall
As the temperature starts to change and we usher in the fall season, not only is it a great time to add pumpkin spice to your palette, but it is a great opportunity to spruce up your home for the fall market. Here are some tips that will help to make your home more appealing:
-
Act Now
While not impossible to sell in the winter, it is much easier to sell during the fall. If you’re interested in selling your home, act now to avoid running into the holiday season.
-
Add A Touch of Autumn to Your Curb Appeal
Now is a great time to add some mums and marigolds to your curb appeal. The fall colors are aesthetically pleasing and also create the warmth of fall in your own yard. Be sure to also rake dead leaves and any overgrown vegetation and bushes. As much as we want to hold on to summer, now is the time to cut summer vines and any dead flowers that didn’t make it into fall.
-
Check Your HVAC system
As the seasons change, inspect your HVAC system to make sure the air in your home is fresh for your family and visitors. Replace your furnace filter and cut the heat on. It’s best to discover any problems with your furnace or HVAC prior to when you need them.
-
Clean the Windows
The weather can wreak havoc on your sparkling windows. Don’t forget to dust and wash your windows to bring back your autumn shine. If you’re a pet owner, sometimes our little furry friends can rub their noses on the glass leaving smudges and streaks along the way. Now is a good time to polish and remove those paw and nose prints. Also remove and wash your screens to ensure that your freshly cleaned windows are visible.
-
Don’t Forget The Fireplace
Tis the season to heat things up using your fireplace. Before the temperatures drop too low, remember to remove cobwebs and vacuum your wood-burning fireplace. It may also be a good idea to add some fall decor to the outside of your fireplace for a touch of festivity.
